Join with the Chamber for lunch and a presentation as we kick off Economic Development Week 2023. Danielle Scheiner, Executive Director of the Conroe Economic Development Council, will share updates on the state of business development in the Conroe region.
The CEDC mission is to enhance the strength and stability of the greater Conroe economy through the support of existing industry and the attraction of manufacturing and service sector business (basic industries) which bring new capital and employment opportunities into the community. As a city department, it is funded by 4B sales tax and overseen by the seven-member Conroe Industrial Development Corporation Board of Directors. Additionally, the CEDC Advisory Board includes key economic development allies that provide assistance with our strategic direction. It focuses on the recruitment, retention and expansion of large and small businesses.
As Executive Director of the Conroe Economic Development Council, Scheiner is responsible for marketing Conroe to new and expanding businesses. In the last three years, she and her team have attracted 18 new projects to Conroe with an estimated $665 million in capital investment and the addition or retention of 1,486 jobs.
Scheiner received a B.S. from Texas A&M University and is a certified Professional Community and Economic Developer (PCED). She is a graduate of both the Community Development Institute (CDI) and OU Economic Development Institute (EDI) and was named a 2018 Top 50 Economic Developer in North America by Consultant Connect.
